Career Oportunities

Conference PeopleA question that is often asked by students is "Now that I have a license, where can I work or who can I work for?" Some ask, "Are brokers hiring?". The answer to these questions depend on your desire to work for a large, medium, or small firm and what location you prefer to work from. Whether brokers are hiring depends on a number of factors, but usually brokers are hiring. They will want to interview you after you have aquired your license.

You should really be interviewing the brokers to see which firms you prefer based on the answers you recieve. Create a list of questions and ask each broker the same questions. You may also want to ask if you can attend a sales meeting to see how the agents and the broker or sales manager intermingle together.

It is a good idea to interview several brokers of different size firms. You have to determine what size firm you feel comfortable with. As a new agent, one of the most important aspects of choosing a firm will be the type and amount of free new agent training you will recieve so that you can get a fast start to success. The commission amount you recieve when you first start out is not the most important consideration when choosing a firm.

One firm that you might want to consier is All Florida GMAC Realty. They have a excellent reputation and provide a lot of new agent training. You also might want to check with Realtor Association of St Lucie to get the names of other firms that you might want to interview. Who ever you choose, make sure you feel very comfortable and at ease with the manager or broker as well as with the other agents in the office. The last thing you want to happen is that you move from one firm to another over and over again. You will loose many of your customers this way and loose future referrals because they can't find you.
